Over the last few decades, regional conflicts and strict border controls fundamentally altered these movement patterns. Arrivals originating from Israel dropped significantly as political boundaries hardened and movement became heavily restricted during the early 2000s. At the same time, populations from Gulf states steadily grew as economic shifts and regional instability prompted many diaspora families to relocate closer to home.

Emigration from Palestine is heavily driven by historical displacement and the search for stability. Over two million Palestinians live in neighboring Jordan, with hundreds of thousands more in Syria and Lebanon due to shared cultural roots and long-standing refugee communities. Beyond the immediate region, many professionals move to Gulf nations like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates for career opportunities.

While neighboring countries historically hosted the largest diaspora, recent regional instability fundamentally altered these routes. Worsening economic crises and conflicts in the Middle East pushed many Palestinians to seek new lives further abroad. Today, destinations like Turkiye, Sweden, and Belgium are seeing rapid growth as families search for secure legal status and safer futures.
